MSRP is 87,900. But you are not buying this from Fisker, you are buying it through dealerships. And what happens at dealerships when there is a vehicle in high demand, and a waiting list develops, they stick it to you. Nobody is going to sell it to you MSRP.
By how much, that is the question? |

That's a good point oli.
It will be interesting to see where the price ends up when the cars are released. Has anyone heard anything from the dealers? Welcome to the forum.

Waiting list with a deposit and one without I believe are two different things. I think if people put money down that it would be arguably breach of contract if they tried to sell it for more than MSRP.

I know when BMW was coming out with the 135i people were on lists with deposits and still paid over MSRP. I think this is standard practice unfortunately.
The user here "Wareal" works at a dealership and should know so I'll ask him.

The deposit is not relevant. If you have a signed buyers order for MSRP, then you pay MSRP. Being on a waiting list gives you the right of refusal, that's it. If you don't like the price, the dealer calls the next person on the list.

I can kinda understand that for the regular Karmas, but I am fairly certain, when I filled out my paperwork, it did not say MSRP for the Signature Edition, it gave a flat cost of $100,000, period. And it started out at $80,000 MSRP for the regular, because the solar panel was going to be an option, which it is now standard.

As long as you have a valid contract with a price you should be fine. Many times, with new vehicle introductions, manufacturers publish prices late in the game, therefore, buyer and seller agree on MSRP or some variation.

I will call Fisker and find out about this. I think we all should cancel our deposits if Fisker doesn't hold their dealers to sell at MSRP. That will scare them into enforcing Dealers to sell at MSRP or below. Porsche makes sure that every Porsche dealer sells at MSRP. Same goes with Mercedes. If Fisker allows them to do this, it makes them look like a Chevrolet Dealership or any other non-elite car brand.

To Oli, Reventon and others:
Out of curiosity, what prompted this thread and paranoia about price? Has someone suggested that you would be charged a premium, or is this just pure speculation? |
